The Voice of Leaders in Public Service

Formed in 1981 by IRS Managers as a national membership association representing the interests of professional managers, management officials, and non-bargaining unit employees in the federal government. Our members represent a vast diversity, yet our voice is singular.

About us

For over four decades, the Professional Managers Association (PMA) has proudly served those in the IRS who are ineligible for union membership. Our organization’s focus is to be a voice for all managers, management officials, non-bargaining unit workers, leadership development program participants, and retirees. Through our consultative relationship with agency leaders, we advocate for our members in high-level discussions and planning.

We also engage other agencies, the Congress, and the press to elevate those voices throughout the government. We care greatly about good government and will speak out when we see failures or opportunities to improve. Our members are committed to continuously improving the lives of those in public service. We support that goal by providing opportunities for our members to network, learn, advocate, and be the best leader possible.
